Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Skyler Stanley @Wildskyler

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m currently apprenticing with a world renowned photographer as well as pursuing my own journey in photography and film. I have big dreams, ideas, and goals in the industry. Hopefully building my Instagram influence so I can work with my favorite brands!

I come from the countryside south of Sacramento, California. It’s where I began this journey, with landscapes of the gorgeous rivers, sunsets, and more.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love technology of all sorts, environment & nature, portraits and filmmaking. With @wildskyler I post my adventures & places I go thru my lens–landscapes, roads, nature, and occasional epic self-portrait.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

First, incorporating my name. Second, from a branding perspective I post photos of the wild world around me. So… wildskyler 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

With @wildskyler, I shoot with my DSLR, process and edit with Lightroom and export for the next step. My favorite iPhone app, and the last step in editing is using VSCOcam. Fantastic features and professional quality filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have to be honest here… I’m not a huge browser of Instagram. I stay in touch with friends and family mostly. Though, I love what artofvisuals is doing!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Go crazy with VSCOcam and other editing apps. Have fun and be creative!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love working for myself and helping brands succeed in return for helping me keep my Instagram alive!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Just be honest and real. Don’t do generic ads. Work with us influencers. We need to feed ourselves and keep a roof over our head. In return, we will showcase your product or service the best way we can!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think people get bored easily and distracted quickly. New, honest, and fresh content keeps people interested.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Getting creative and try to sell a product or service I’m passionate about. Also, of course, paying my bills so I can keep shooting!
