Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sharon Chia @sharonachia

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi! I’m Sharon from Singapore. I blog for passion amidst the fact that I hold a full time job in a bank.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I’m a purveyor of fashion and luxury lifestyle. I pretty much post about fashion #ootds, beauty, travel, food and interesting events.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Sharon would be my name, A is like an ‘A’ student, Ace at things that I do and Chia would be my family name. Hence, SharonAChia.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use meitu, snapseed and VSCO, and I will end off my final editing within instagram using their brightening feature when needed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Too many to list but I do love Kristina Bazan, Gary Pepper, Chriselle Lim and Jennim.
Chriselle Lim inspires me the most because she juggles her family life and her blogging and vlogging really well. Perhaps it’s because I’m married like her and I’m awaiting for my own kid to come, so it help to see her juggling her life so well. Even with a baby, she still looks so glam and all.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Travel. It opens up your horizons and it will also make you realize how blessed you are.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I get to try out alot of things which I may not have even heard of and I most certainly love to share good things with my followers. I will only recommend services or products which I have personally used and give my most honest feedback about it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It is to give promo codes or do a giveaway because everyone loves a discount or to try to win something. This will help to generate traffic for the said brand as well.
I will only do something for a brand provided I have tried it out myself. Alot of my followers have told me they liked me for my honesty and being real. I guess that is really important being an influencer.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

If you want to promote something, it must be something you’ve personally tried and tested. Audiences will come to know if an influencer puts in effort in his//her work. Don’t follow blindly. you can seek inspirations but do it with a twist and own it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love to get to know a new brand and the works they do, as well as getting to try them out and when it is something good, I get to share them with my followers as well as personally to my own family and friends.
