1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I do a lot of things. I own an advertising agency, as well as being a partner in a fashion business with my mother. I’m a freelance group fitness instructor teaching Les Mills BodyCombat – an MMA based cardio program, and BodyBalance- a yoga based flexibility and strength class. And of course, I own a fashion, travel and lifestyle blog.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I love personal style, especially elegant, professional outfits and I try to show the same through my looks and blog posts. I also share my travel images and snippets from my everyday life.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
The Silver Kick Diaries is the name of my blog, which is also my Instagram handle. Silver Kick is the name of my fictional alter ego, sort of like a superhero.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
The main app I use is Snapseed, as I love its user-friendliness and options. I also like to use Aviary for certain things like blurring and corrections. I love bright, colorful pictures and I try to go for the same result when I edit my photos.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I don’t really have Instagrammers that I really like or take inspiration from, since I don’t want to end up copying them, even a little bit. I like anyone who posts clean, beautiful pictures, which could be anyone from food bloggers to photographers to friends on Instagram.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Try the Scale edit on Snapseed’s Perspective editing option. You can easily make a portrait get more space around it so it fits the Instagram box.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Inspiring people to dress up, to feel happier, to get fitter, and to love themselves more.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Make sure your product/ service fits the influencer. The campaign should be relatable to the influencer’s lifestyle. I maintain authenticity by not being part of campaigns that have are not related to what I believe in, or like to focus on. And if the quality of the brand isn’t good, I won’t promote it.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I think it’s one of the most important things to be original and have high quality. Too many people become copies of a famous influencer/ blogger, just to get more followers and likes. For me, being unique and original is priority number one. Of course, you’ll still have similarities with others who talk about the same things you do, but you won’t be exactly the same. Originality is refreshing. Having a lot of followers but being a copy, is not.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I love it when I partner with a brand that I like. It’s fun to promote something I already know and love. It also feels like a little bit of validation when a good brand wants to associate with you because of the quality of your content.
