Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Savanna Bedell @Yikessav

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am 17 years old, from Orange County, California. I currently am a senior in high school. I work in the theatre program at my school and I do the hair and make up for each production. I love love love my family and my best friend, they all mean the world to me.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love makeup. I love any kind of makeup, from special effects to body painting, to regular glam. My Instagram is all makeup and occasionally hair.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name kind of tells my life story in two words. I was (still am) a very accident prone child and the weirdest stuff always seems to happen to me. I have some pretty crazy stories that wouldn’t normally happen to someone on a day to day basis. Yikes was always the word I used when people ask “describe yourself in one word”. So yikes only seemed fitting and luckily it sounded pretty good with my nickname which is sav(short for savanna).

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use a Nikon D3200 camera to shoot my pictures. Then I usually upload it to my computer the. I then use affinity photo editing then I send it to my phone and put it into VSCO. But on some days if I’m feeling lazy, I just get it to my phone then I use Facetune, then sometimes I use eye magic then lastly I use VSCO

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really love @mykie_ @ssssamantha @kimberleymargarita_ @lora_arellano @maddiecarina and @snitchery but my biggest inspiration is definitely @mykie_

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Kokolashes are by far the most comfortable lashes I’ve ever worn and the makeup forever water blend foundation

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I honestly just want to be an inspiration to people. Want people to go to my Instagram for inspiration when they have a creative block.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I say getting strong influencers and trying to get your name out there as much as possible. I think starting off with a strong set of things you believe in and keeping your feet rooted.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think original content is so so important. There is a huge difference between being inspired by someone else’s work and just straight up copying someone else work.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I think it’s being a part of sometching that’s bigger than yourself is really awesome. Along with meeting all the new people and getting involved in the community.
