1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
My name is Sarah and I’m a photographer and graphic designer from Manchester UK. I’m currently working as a designer for a furniture manufacturing company but dabble in photography, social media and more.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I love nature and spend a lot of time outdoors. I’m currently really into autumn and enjoy going on small shoots in the woods with my friends. I post nature shots the most on my instagram – flowers, trees, leaves and insects too!
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Purpleface is a nickname I’ve had for around 14 years now. I needed a nickname for a blog I was starting and my friend suggested purpleface because I am a very jolly person and when I laugh too much my face turns purple!
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I use lightroom and photoshop on my computer. I import the photos to lightroom, crop and adjust, then transfer to photoshop for the last tweaks and to apply a photoshop action.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I have a couple of instagram accounts I keep up to date with, mainly fellow photographers who are my friends too.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Tilt shift photography. It’s just something that makes an image take on a new lease of life.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I love being able to create images based on products. I love trying out new products and becoming familiar with a brand I’ve possibly not heard of before.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Try to not be too professional. I know that sounds odd but a lot of my images become popular because they can be relatable. If they’re a little flawed around the edges I think it lets people in a little bit and separates them from the big brands.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
As above, quality in terms of image quality needn’t be amazing. You don’t need a camera with 4000000000 megapixels. That said, keep yourself unique and try to set yourself apart from other people. People will reach out to you more if they see you trying something different.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Great incentives and beautiful products to work with!
