Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sandy @siramara

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. I moved the USA 14 years ago, and 4 years ago I launched my accessories company – Sira&Mara. The company has evolved into a styling company which is complemented by my personal style blog – Style Pledge.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post mainly about affordable fashion but I try to share little bits of my family life as I believe it is important to share who you are with your community.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram account is the name of my company, since I initially created the account exclusively to promote my jewelry line. Now EVERY calls me “siramara” and I love it.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love shooting with VSCO cam, and I use mainly Facetune and Instabeauty. I also mix it up with Snapseed, Afterlight, and PS Express.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like TONS of Instragrammers. Even though I love many that are on my field, the ones that really inspire me are the ones that are simply sharing their personal style with a bunch of e-friends and have completely different jobs. I love @stylishprofessor @emptyneststyle and @wearwhatwhere

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Using an Eyefi card! My life is way easier now that I can take pictures with my big camera and have them on my phone in seconds! Best idea ever!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is having the chance to connect with people I would have never met and share with them my passion for looking fabulous without breaking the bank.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Maintaining authenticity is very important to me as I have seen one too many bloggers get lost in the world of freebies! That is not my purpose as an influencer. My goal is to empower woman of any socio-economic status to embrace fashion and look great without the fear of spending too much. I keep this in mind when accepting collaborations with brands. If I would not pay for the product with my own money, that campaign is not right for me or my community.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality content is what is going to make you or break you. Do no post images just because. Think about the images that really catch your eye and compare them to yours. Nobody is going to care about your content unless it is quality content. So, if you are sharing it to become an influencer, do your homework and learn about lighting and editing. Above it all, keep your message authentic.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I like best about partnering with brands is that, often times, I get to introduce the brand to my community. I write in English and Spanish, so many times my Spanish speaking community may not be familiar with a particular brand and vice versa. I love being that bridge for them!
