Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Robin Bergman @robinsretro

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Robin Bergman and I live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. I am a gamedesigner and Tech Enthusiast. My passions are (retro)videogames and Tech. I am an early adapter when it comes to Tech and I love to try out new gadgets and games.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post the most about retro video games. I love to share my passion for the games of the past. Next to retrogames I also post about modern videogames and tech.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I wanted something simple and something that would stick. Robins retro is like my own world and I invite people to explore this world with me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use mainly Photoshop and sometimes the filters of
Instagram itself. My routine is as follows. I make a bunch of photos of the product with my iPhone 12 Pro. I pick the best ones and import them into Photoshop. In Photoshop I copy the main layer and mask it and most of the times I transform it into Black & White. After this I mask the product and delete only the grayscale colors on the product itself. This makes the product completely stand out against a grayscale background. After this I add my watermark and import it into Instagram. Sometimes I add another filter in Instagram itself and then I upload it for the public to see.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@bad is a great account that shows a lot of his collection. @mikhail_repp is a great Russian designer who really inspires me. He really deserves more followers.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

To speak to people and brands that share the same passion. It is also really a lot of fun to be the first to test new products and games that no one has seen yet.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

Well, I am new so I am very excited to start my first campaign. I like that I can earn with my passion and talk to brands that I believe in.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Always try something new, even if it scares you. And make an effort, good content is not just smile in front of the camera. It is more about creating a story. A story that people want to know more about.
