Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ramona Jones @monalogue

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a Bristol-based photographer and content curator. When I’m not working, I’m either exploring the UK or baking. These are what you’ll find on my blog and Instagram.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram is a split between baking and exploring the UK. I love experimenting with new ways of photographing. At the moment I love photographing details and playing with light and shadow.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name is Mona and I like to write. I also assume that people tend not to read Instagram captions, so they can be thought of as monologues. What other name could I choose but monalogue?

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love VSCO and Snapseed for filters and adjustments. I also use Afterlight for brightness, nothing compares to it.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favourite instagrammers are @angrybaker, @_pommegranate and @irinahp. They are great at noticing the little details that make life special.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

A 50mm lens for food photography.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love meeting people that are equally obsessed over food and photography. In my standard group of friends it’s a little unusual. It’s great to be surrounded by others who completely understand it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Photos look best when the influencer is allowed to keep as much of their style as possible. That way there is more trust between the poster and their followers too. Colloquial captions are also good.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Try not to post content just for the likes. Sometimes what you want to post won’t get you the most likes, and sometimes what will get you the most likes won’t be what you want to post. Its sad when people lose sight of their own style for the sake of engagement. It’s great to find the balance.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love trying new products that I didn’t know existed, especially if they have a good ethos.
