Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Petite Paulina @petitepaulinastyle

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I come from Glasgow, Scotland and I work full-time in the National Health Service. My blog http://petitepaulina.com is a hobby and I enjoy creating content and engaging with my audience from all corners of the globe.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mainly post personal style content mixed with lifestyle, beauty and travel. I share what I’m up to whether that’s what I’m buying, products I’m loving, food I’m enjoying or the latest place I’m exploring, be that my own country or others.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I didn’t want to use my full name as my brand as I like to keep my work and my blog entirely separate. I came up with it as a way of describing myself as I’m naturally petite with a spin on my name to keep it simple and timeless.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Lightroom to edit all my photos for my blog and social media. I’ve created my own preset which I apply each time and alter to suit each individual image. This helps keep my aesthetic consistent. I also used VSCO in the past but Lightroom gives far more creative freedom.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I get inspiration from a lot of other content creators with large and small audiences. A few of my favourites include @miss_gunner, @oliviarose, @mariannnan, @nadiaanya__, @rachelclareholland, @shannholt_.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I enjoy creating content that inspires others whether that’s introducing someone to a restaurant they haven’t been to before, giving ideas for different ways to wear a specific piece or inspiring them to try out a new skincare product/tool. The best part is receiving comments or DM’s from followers saying they’ve bought something following my recommendation and loved it, that makes it all worthwhile.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

I enjoy the #StarInfluencer feature most as it’s a way of discovering talent I wouldn’t have come across otherwise. It’s a great initiative and helps creators gain exposure in a different way.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I always stay true to myself and I believe that’s the most important part. If a brand has agreed to collaborate, they already like your content and feel it would resonate with their audience. I also ensure I’m clear on the brief and any guidelines before creating content to avoid wasted effort on both parts.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality will always rule over quantity and you can’t force creativity. Writers block is a well known condition and the same goes for creating other types of content. It’s important to take breaks and re-evaluate to recognise how far you’ve come and where you’d like to go next. Sometimes that includes up-skilling or learning in order to progress and investing in yourself is the best thing you can do.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Having a brand recognise my work and reach out to collaborate is extremely rewarding. Being able to come up with ideas to bring their products to life in a normal/real life setting is exciting and keeps me on my toes. When my audience engages positively with the content it’s extremely satisfying.
