Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Novita Wijaya @novitawjya

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello there, I’m from Indonesia, this year would 24yo. Currently working as an accounting staff in particular company in Medan, North Sumatra (my hometown). Previously, I was in Singapore for my bachelor degree and went to Xiamen for another year to learn and understanding chinese culture!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I started art as in sketching back I was in high school, taking some extracurriculum class from the school. After skecthing, it went to watercolour drawing but after entering university life, I stopped doing the art. Then in November 2015, I was introduced to new kind of art, calligraphy, I fall in love immediately with calligraphy! Nowadays, my interest would be calligraphy, a bit of watercolours! Most of my feeds would calligraphy, lettering anywhere and a little bit of shameless selfie. Haha

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

There’s nothing much to say about my instagram name. I was trying to find something simpler to named it. At first, I was going to use my full name like novitawijaya, but it was taken at that time since there’s a lot of Novita Wijaya in Indonesia haha! So the name came up like novitawjya. Not bad

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually do not edit much my photos. But when in needed, I will use PicsArt to edit. Most of time, I will use the feature from instagram to edit the brightness, contrast, sharpness and etc. Usually I will edit the brightness of the photos since the lighting in my house is bad and with limited equipment (using iphone to take photo) so the colour in the photo wont pop up.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There will alot to mention! Instagrammers like connie.rie , kirby leung, kei haniya, nina tran, gracebybounds, muliong, pascribe, suzcunnigham, brownfoxcalligraphy, cforcalligrpahy, lilaccalligraphy, aaria braid and so oooonnnnnn. There are amazing calligrapher, each of their feed is inspiring me to grow better!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Bungee Jumping would be fun! Well, I’m afraid of height actually but extreme challenge would be something to do! Hopefully someday would be able to do it

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The best part being influencer is to be able to attract or influence people to do something new or something they love. We are like promoting the stuffs that they love or we love to do more and more. Encourage would be the best word, I guess

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be creative! Creativity is free ! We can find creativity in any parts of our daily life. That’s the original sense of a brand.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Well, since nowadays people tend to look for something new, doing something that is out of box would be great!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Brands are the most powerful things in the world, once you are with the brands, you csn do anything esp influencing people to believe and encourging them to do or make something
