1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m Nick Hellendoorn, live in Amsterdam in The Netherlands and love sneakers and streetwear. I post, collect, buy and sell sneakers all day every day.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Sneakers are the only thing I post. I built a big community of sneaker lovers that use the hashtag #getswooshed and feature a lot of people on my page. I love to do it and am so thankfull that most of the people likes GetSwooshed.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
The Instagram name came from a custom sneaker I designed. It was a Nike Air Max 1 with swooshes all over the sneaker. It made me think that the whole sneaker got swooshed, so I thought everybody needs to get swooshed!
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I don’t edit a lot of pictures because most of the pictures are from the community. But when there’s an announcement or something I use Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I got a few I really like. Ronnie Fieg is one of them, really inspiring! Then there’s Oldmanalan, because he does what I do every day. Trying to build a community. Then a lot of inspiring accounts like: Glackster, Gullyguyleo etc.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Find your passion and try to build a community with fellow Instagrammers that got the same passion! That’s how GetSwooshed became like this.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
There’s not one favorite part, it’s just amazing to see that people love what you do. I’m working a couple of hours a day on GetSwooshed and it’s great that people appreciate the hard work.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Never use your Instagram for wrong purposes. For example GetSwooshed is a sneaker account and that can’t post pictures about other stuff like fake cheap sneakers.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Always be on the lookout what people post and try to give that a twist. I think cinemagraphs are really interesting and would love to see those more and more on Instagram.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I never really partnered with anyone but would love to in the future. For now the website will be online soon and I hope I can link up with some brands.
