Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Morgan @morganhenryallen

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a welsh/italian guy living in Milan, Italy; I was born here. I was always interested in any way of art form since I was young; my father was an actor/speaker/model/writer and he used to took me on various assignments. I did art school, but wasn’t able to finish it… my father died when I was 18 so I had to work right away to provide for my big brother and mother, but in the meantime, I worked for a model agency (still do) and I found myself raising a music studio with a friend: the KC Studio, where I write songs, and perform, occasionaly! There I’m able to work with various types of artists: from the singers, the producers, the authors etc. but not only from the music part, we also got into music videos, photography, graphics and painting, so is fascinating to meet all these types of artists in even one day time! There’s always so much to learn. I love the gym stuff too, but I didn’t really have the chance to make a good post about it.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I have huge interest in photography, fashion, music, gym… but I love a lot of “nerd” stuff too… so far I didn’t really posted a lot of photos, but the feedback is awesome for each one of them, most passing the 2K likes without putting much effort into it! I usually post random photos, I can say… no specific topic, I just want them to look good and have something cool about it… but they’re all photos of myself, I can say that; I don’t think I look THAT ugly so I probably use the look in my advantage sometimes.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well, that’s just… my full name… I like my name! I really don’t like nicknames; even the name I put in my songs is “HenryMorgan”… I just like it! Obviously is the name of a famous pirate, and I like to keep my last name “Allen” at the end for my father… and that’s it!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t do much, I sometimes change the settings like: temperature, contrast, light, shadow using only the Microsoft basic editing app on my PC… I would love to do more crazy stuff sometimes; I’ll probably do it once I get a great camera!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Unfortunately I don’t follow anyone… I mean, I have almost 4K followers but I follow just 2 people: one friend and my girlfriend… I can say that a lot of times, someone says to me that Mariano Di Vaio posts pictures I plan to do before I can actually do them, so I guess I’m in line with his ideas of good, sometimes random pictures… I had a chance to watch his profile and I really like the pictures with random fashion, gym, everyday content! Of course, I’m in a much, MUCH M U C H lesser scale!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

To be different and original! I most of the time give feedback to the people who gives me likes/comments/following and I see a lot of profiles everyday… Most of them just look the SAME: lots of identical selfies with the same poses, nothing new, just selfies with the description: “follow me” … for what? You’re not giving me nothing new or inspiring, or different! At least put some effort into it if you’re asking me to follow… so, what my fellow instagrammers have to try now? To try being original! Or at least, don’t post the same things everyday looking for something new to happen.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I don’t think I’m an influencer yet, so I can’t really reply to that! I guess I can imagine that it would be great to post different types of content and read everyday different types of feedback and maybe inspire someone to do something better with their life, or just see something with a different prospective.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the number one tip for major campaigns is: to let feel the people are part of it, part of something, never alienate themself from the public. Regarding authenticity, that’s the harder part; there, is importart to take risks, trying not to fall into the same comfortable safe mediocre ideas that other brands use… that can make good reception from the public, but NEVER great and unforgettable; do your own ideas, even if they sound crazy! Just do it.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

You just need to let people see that you LOVE what your doing… that you’re passionate and really believe in that idea. Never compromise on what you evisioned, stay true to your idea, don’t look the competiotion too much to force yourself to be different; just do what you think would be great, without restraints! Maybe the next big thing could be yours.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The thought of being part of something, try something new and add something of yourself and see how everyone can have a different artistic point of view with that same brand! And have opportunities to get noticed maybe.
