Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Monika @thestyleventure

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Monika and I currently live in beautiful Scandinavia. I am a personal style blogger and I also work on marketing for a Norwegian brand. I was born in Poland but I love to travel and I lived in places such as UK, France and now Scandinavia. I am passionate about anything that gets my creative juices flowing.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

As a coffee lover you will find loads of pictures of coffee as well as beautiful Scandinavian landscapes. I also incorporate my outfits into my feed but I try to keep the balance between fashion, lifestyle and nature so that my account is interesting and shows different parts of my life. I like adding some personal touches to my feed too, such as anniversary pictures of me and my husband too.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name is a marriage between 2 words that describe my account the most. Style and adventure. It was quite easy to come up with it as I knew what kind of content I wanted to post on my instagram.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Snapseed almost exclusively. I just love it! It has everything you need to edit. I also have met few photographers who recommended it to me so I guess I just went with their recommendations.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love to follow artists on instagram, especially Jasmine Dowling. I love her calligraphy and her style. I also follow Sara Donaldson from @harperandharley because I love how minimalistic her profile is and it is something for me to aspire to.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would say that all instagrammers should try interacting with their audience so much more. It is so fun to converse back and forth with your instagram friends. Instagram is such a fun community and we can take advantage of it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favourite part of being an influencer is feeling connected with my audience. Recognising some user names who comment all the time is so cool! Also it is fun to create inspiration for my audience and feel the pressure kind of, to put a photo forward at least once a day.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For me it is important to only work with brands who I can see supporting even if I wasn’t getting a free product or paid for it. Brands should look for influencers that correspond with their brand identity instead of only looking at numbers. I would also say that it is important to find out an influencer’s name before contacting them. It shows respect and that you actually took the time to address them personally.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is so important! I couldn’t stress it enough. I rarely take pictures for instagram on my phone. I usually take it with my Canon G7X or Nikon D610 and then upload it onto my phone. Originality is important too, but without quality, it will not work.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Of course I love getting the free products, who doesn’t right 😉 Moreover, it is the relationship with the brand that you build and I also love being pushed by brands to create content that fits their story etc. It is a very creative process.
