Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Molly O’Sullivan @molly_sulli

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I originally come from a very small town with just over 4000 people, however I have lived in the city of St. Louis ever since I was six years old. I am currently 18, and a senior in high school with just a few months to go!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love all things beauty and fashion, whether that be hair products, clothing or makeup! I love to shop, and often find myself at the mall. My instagram is a mix between personal pictures of me with friends or family, as well as posts featuring cosmetics, photography or clothing. I hope to one day become a beauty blogger!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name is simply a combo of my first and last name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I have used many, MANY apps in the past but these are my current faves. For minor touch ups such as teeth whitening or zit removing, I like facetune. I also like the app youcam makeup and I use it to put on eyelashes to enhance my eyes. After I have touched up my picture, I go into VSCO cam to edit and filter. Currently for my theme, I use a combo of low exposure and high contrast to bring out the darkness in my pictures.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really like Meghan Rienks. Her feed is always so clean and organized, which is extremely hard to do. She also appears to be a very down to earth person. Tana Mongeau is another all time fave!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

USE YOUR WINDOWS! Like for real, lighting is everything when it comes to pictures, and if you didn’t know, natural is best. Even the most beautiful pictures or people can be ruined and washed out by bad lighting. Good lighting also makes your pictures look more professional and sharp.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to introduce people to great things they never would have heard of before! When someone tells me they loved a new product that I introduced them to, It makes me really happy!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t just choose anybody. Look for people who would actually want to buy the type of thing you are selling. This means that their reviews will be better and less scripted, and that they will most likely actually use and enjoy the product. This maintains authenticity for both parties involved.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality over quantity for sure. A feed with 20 nicely shot posts looks so much better than one with 200 bad ones. Really take time to get the setup and lighting right, and take multiple. Also spend a lot of time editing and ask friends for their opinions. Also nobody likes a thief so please only post your photos!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Honestly, I really like learning about new products! For example, I recently signed onto a campaign for an eyeliner that I had never heard of that I really liked and can see myself buying again!
