Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: miguel guinea sarmiento @mguinea_photography

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

well, i have just arrived from Lanzarote, i have passed there my Christmas holidays, taking some amazing pictures, climbing volcanos, chasing sunsets… I am from Madrid, Spain, and i am actually studying Sports Science and Physiotherapy at University, but in my free time and holidays i am always taking pictures and traveling.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love so many topics, from Nature, Sports, Night, landscape, POV photography… and normally i post a pictures of all those topics. I also like model photography, but always with natural light.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I first had another name and I posted some interesting GoPro pictures, and all my friends were always leaving comments of how cool my pictures were, so i decided to buy a DSLR camera and start shooting cooler pictures. It was there when i decided to change my name, and put a more professional one and made a logo, so all my pictures were signed.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I edit my pictures always on Photoshop. I don’t have an editing routine, because i don’t edit all my pictures with the same settings, although they are pretty similar. But i used to give a VSCO look to most of my pictures.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

i follow many pro photographers which have inspire me since i started shooting. But my favourites are Jarrad Seng, Donal James Boyd and of course Jeremy Jauncey the founder of beautiful destinations. But i love so many pictures of so many different Instagrammers that it is really hard to have some favourite one,

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Everyone should try to wake up at 5am, go to climb a mountain, and at the top just sit on the edge, hang out your feet and take some pictures of the sunrise. Every sunrise or sunset is different, and each one likes you more than the one from the day before. For me it is the best feeling in the world !!!!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

the best part are the congratulations and comments followers leave you when you post your pictures, telling you how awesome your pictures are. That are the things that keep me shooting pictures for them.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

i don’t know much about campaigns but i strongly think that, to maintain authenticity, the campaigns must be related as much as possible with the clients it is aimed to. So that those clients feel inspired by the brand, and want to buy the product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

To be original it is important to have your own style, make your own type of pictures, be as much creative as you can. For me, the creativity is what makes the good quality and the really original content. And if followers ask you questions about how you did the picture just explain how you did them, telling always the truth.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

the best thing of partnering with brands is that you help them, and they help you. I love taking pictures, and the brands need those pictures to be popular in social media, so it is just a perfect and necessary relation.
