1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

A Singaporean girl who has been waving her makeup brushes & hairspray since she fell in love beautifying people (& herself!) in 2006.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Beauty – looking & feeling good inside & out!

Almost on a daily basis, I post my reviews of beauty products, makeup of the day, beauty tips or showcasing my work as a professional makeup artist/hair stylist.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

The birth of beauty_bymelissa took place this Feb. Be it professionally or personally, I love making people look & most importantly, feel beautiful. To know that I created that beauty, that happiness; is a form of blessing to me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

3 steps:
1st – IPhone photo edit (rotation, cropping etc.)
2nd – Watermark (copyright my photo)
3rd – Instagram photo edit (colour, light correction etc.)
Voila!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

the_beautybling. Her gorgeous makeup/beauty photos are to drool for! Makes me wish that i can have all the makeup products in the world!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Give “Fortune Favours The Brave” by Makeup Revolution a try.

I use many high end eye-shadows, & i must say this is good stuff. Its 30 shades are highly pigmented, long-lasting (still looks great on me even after 12 hours!) & it is less than S$20.

PS. The creation of this eye-shadow palette was in collaboration with a British beauty blogger! *Envy*

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

To be able to gain & share the knowledge that I’ve learnt from many talented influencers/artistes worldwide.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Find the right person who understands & is able to convey your brand’s message. Being on the same wavelength & having mutual respect is what’s going to bring in positive results in the long run.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality & original content will keep your page engaging & attract followers. And if you’re using someone else’s content, it doesn’t hurt to be nice to give him/her a shout-out . We can all do our part & keep social media a happy place!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It gives me an opportunity to try out new products especially before they are launched. Plus it’s good to know if it’s beneficial & suitable to use on my models/clients.
