Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Meghan Joy Yancy @Meghanjoytoday

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I live in Maple Grove, Minnesota with my husband and our 5 children. (All 7 and under.) I am a stay at home mom who homeschools and runs some businesses from home. I consider myself a jack of all trades and master of none. I realize that’s not such a good thing, but I’ve accepted it and I’m proud of it.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love to encourage people to live for today and find the joy in your extraordinary ordinary life. I share some of my life experiences in order to spread inspiration and motivation to chase your dreams and live in the moment.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It was all for my own personal life at first and then as I was writing my first book, I realized I really needed to expand my platform. Once I began really focusing on my IG feed, I soon realized I could make an impact on the world through it.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mostly do manual editing and add some brightness and highlights using the IG editor or VSCO. Most of my photos are taken with excellent lighting so there is less editing to do.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I’m a huge fan of some mommy bloggers like @marylauren and @cultivatemotherhood. I have met some incredible people via IG, and I am so grateful for that!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

@hellofresh meal boxes- UH. MAZE. ING. Most fresh delucious food I have tasted in a long while!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Definitely the relationships that are produced. I love connecting with people. I love hearing their stories and I love that I can sometimes be a part of them. If I could impact or make a difference in one persons day, it’s all worth it. I’m a happy camper.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

By truly being me. I’m only going to represent a product I truly love. I share my story and my heart and it comes through in my words and in my pictures.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Wow. So important. That is why you have a following. Because you are uniquely and divinely you. Don’t be afraid to show that an display that. Don’t be anyone else. You are awesome just as you are.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Again, relationship. Knowing we have a mutual desire and purpose. Being able to represent their dream in product form and help spread their vision to others.
