1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m Croatian New Yorker. Correspondent for bestselling magazine Gloria and newspapper Vecernji list in Croatia. Also writer and freelance photographer,mostly expert in black/white portraits and photos.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love people. And travelling. Mostly I post my portraits of celebrities (I usually shoot famous people and write about showbizz) or pictures of my friends,sometimes images of New York or other cities in the world.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name and my nickname. Also,that s my bussines name – photo by Mariachi. And Mariachi also mean ‘poet and wonder who travell a lot’.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Actually,I’m professional photographer and don’t shoot with iphone or android. I took photos with professinal camera – Canon or Fuji Film and just a little bit editing in Lightroom. Don’t prefeir too much editing.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

All photographers: Peter Lindbergh, Bruce Webber, Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti,Christine Lacombe, Milk Studios, gomaryandcoco blog,actor James Franco…

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

More natural photos.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

That people can see that everything is possible and I try to give them a hope to not give up. I always was into photography: have few polaroid exhibition in Croatia but I decided to became professional photographer just when I was 39. I came from a beautiful small town on Adriatic coast,I became one of the most popular (I suppose also influental) journalist and reporter in Croatia and then I decided start again and completely changed my life – moved to NY and became professional photographer. So, now I’m living my dream: shooting people,mostly celebrities and enjoy in every moment.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To believe in products and in philosophy of brands. Every collaboration have to be honest,friendly,based on trust and person’s lifestyle and oppinions.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be yourself. Believe that you have a right thing. And enjoy it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Artistic collaboration (I can take artistic fashion photos) and lots of fun. And good images of people who can wear brands.
