1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I am Charley, based in England and the Southern state of Tennessee in the USA. I am a business university graduate now focusing on launching a career as a freelance photographer and designer. I spend a lot of time traveling both in Europe and America.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
My key areas of interest in photography are landscape, urban, product and nature. My Instagram “theme” have of recent been focusing more on landscape and nature photography and i usually post between 4-5 times a week.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Simple, it’s purely my Name.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
My photo routine consists of spending most my time on Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop (for more complex edits). After that, i’ll move the images to my phone via Google Drive and make more final adjustments on the VSCO app, FaceTune, Afterlight, and then finally to Instagram or Tumblr for uploading. For timelapses and starlapses i’ll edit each frame shot in lightroom first, before moving all the shots into Adobe Premiere to construct the video and make additional color and video edits.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
@Evan5ps
@littlecoal
@connortd
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
A new application called StarstaX. It creates the most amazing star trail photos from single timelapse star images and compresses them into one final image showing the star paths. Star and nightscape photography is becoming a huge phenomena among photographers, and this free software make s usual edit that would take hours on Photoshop into a 30 second-2 button click routine.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
Matching a brands image, idea, theme or desire with my own creative abilities to produce a creative calibration.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Social media marketing especially on Instagram, Tumblr or Flickr etc. has a huge need for constant “themes” or certain feed “look”. From experience, if images or design uploads by a brand maintain a constant theme or similar kind of edit, viewers can instantly make the link between the image and the brand without even needing to see who uploaded it. This also helps when other accounts are “regraming”/ “retweeting” etc you will alrealdy make the link back to the original brand or creator without having to read the descriptions.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
If you want to succeed in social media marketing and encourage users to engage with your content then you need something which is at least unique (original of course is always better). “Originality” and “relevance” to posts are KEY. Viewers need to be engaged and entertained in often a split second of finding a new account to follow, or seeing a sponsored post to want to subscribe/ follow that brand. The bottom line is that you want to give the viewers a REASON TO COME BACK.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Both the creator/ partner and the brand both GAIN. Whether this gain be in the form of followers, engagers or increased exposure.
