Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Macarlo Whitney @_troublelos_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Macarlo Whitney, I was born in Stuttgart, Germany on January 22nd 1995! I spent about 3 years there. Every summer, every holiday I was in Portsmouth VA, right beside Norfolk VA. After that I moved to Portsmouth, known as P.Town, then I moved to Kansas for awhile. Moved to Hampton VA next, my parents relationship started to get shaky, I got expelled from school, so I moved back to Portsmouth VA. I was alone, no parents growing up for awhile, I was staying out a couple of aunts and uncles houses. My parents later on spilt, my dad sent us to Louisiana where I started to grow up! It was a whole different vibe out there, I liked it! That was 2003 when we got there. I was also in hurricane Katriana, after the hurricane, I moved to Forest City, Arkansas and Texas; Dallas, been around Houston and San Antiono as well.
After a couple of years, my father then wanted to move back to VA, we moved to the DMV, we stayed right outside of DC.
I played basketball up here, got serious with sports, played football, and also ran track for the school. I played AAU basketball in VA beach. I model, and I also have a dream, that’s music. Every since a youngin, I always wanted to do it. Till this day I have posters of big rappers; 50 Cent, G-Unit, Dr. Dre, Shady, T.I. , there’s so many more! Over the years, I kept writing raps, every instrumental I hear, I wrote to that! “I spit it how I live it and only spit what I seen, so I put my life in a few 16’s”. That was a small verse for ya right there! That’s my passion! Where I came from, a lot of people don’t make it out, they either dead or in jail, military, college. See me I’m still standing, grinding! I’m hustling, putting in that work to get somewhere! I want to be noticed! I can’t live this struggle life no more, I got a family to feed. My father is in prison, and I have a couple of siblings that I gotta make sure see that, man our brother is that guy! You always wanna lead by example! So growing up in the projects, having all these big dreams, I know I’m destined for greatness!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I just post myself to be honest! I want people to discover me! I’m just a young man that wants to model and bring my music out later on.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name came about from one of my favorite rappers T.I. , and simply because growing up, I was hard headed, always in something, just a troublesome child growing up! So that’s what my folks called me!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only use whitagram to make the actual photo smaller but nothing else. I keep it natural

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Nobodies Instagram really inspires me but there’s people that do; a few big named models, some rappers that have also got their name out there too!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

At the end of the day, you are one person! God made all of us different! So be you and only you!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s just being able to be a blessing! In the bible it says, it’s a blessing to be a blessing! I came from nothing! So if I can help in everyday, best believe I will!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It’s simple, do what you feel!!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

You always want to make sure you are you! Don’t ever try to be anyone else! Perfect your own craft, keep it original, take a few pointers from a few if you need too, but open your mind up! Be creative!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Showing people that we can unite!
