Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Louis Ylam @louisylm

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am building up a blog right now, which should be online in January. I work as a photographer with private bookings in my region. I am living in Munich, Germany.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love fashion, styling and make up. I mostly post pictures about Lifestyle and Menswear.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s just my name without the A in Ylam, pretty basic I guess.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love to use facetune to get true white tones, and I love the aesthetic filter series on VSCO. But my main tools are the Instagram editing tools. I love to have a lot of contrast in my pictures.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My favorite two Instagrammers would be David Koeltgen and Drew Scott, but my main inspiration is definitely Drew.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Using unum. It has helped me so much while building up a feed. It’s a great app for iOS.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I would just love to leave my little footsteps in the fashion-world some day.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Definitely look for promoters who post regularly. That’s the most important thing with promotions. Having a personal connection to the brand is the most important thing to maintain authenticity in my opinion.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Posting something you’re not 1000% confidential about is the worst thing to do. Quality is important, but everybody starts small.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

You get to know a big variety of different people. That’s the best part of it in my opinion.
