1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
My name is Liv Waters. I am second oldest in a family of seven from a small town called Lagrangeville in upstate New York. Right now, I am a musician, performer, Singer-Songwriter, Nashville Recording artist, Traveler, and lover of life. I make a living as a full time musician by traveling around the country and performing, selling my original music. In my career, I have been blessed to be featured as an artist on world famous stages and venues such as Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and New York’s Carnegie Hall. In my free time, I love to hangout with my large and loving family and go for hikes, cook, or do arts and crafts with my youngest brothers!
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I post on Instagram mostly about my music as a songwriter and Nashville Recording artist and beauty tips and tricks since I am on stage so much. But, I also blog so I write and post on Instagram a lot of arts and crafts, cooking tips, personal childhood stories, workout ideas, seasonal foods, and lots of fun things!
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
About six months ago, I made the toughest decision of my life–dropping out of college and from studying to be in the medical field to pursue my life long dream of having a music career. I created an Instagram page, @livwatersmusic, to see if individuals actually enjoy my talent and listening to my music. It was just meant for a few friends to have update on my career, but after a viral video of me singing Comeback Song by Darius Rucker, I have over 17.3k followers and counting! Since then, I have taken my career and my fans along with me from Nashville to New York and anywhere in between singing and living my life for them!
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
The one app that I absolutely LOVE to edit my photos with is Aviary because I can fix the simple things like brightness, warmth, and saturation while keeping the idea of my original photo still there. I believe that it is good to edit photos to an extent to fix lighting and other technical things, but it is important to not change them too much so we can keep our inner beauty still shining through without believing that we need to use an app to feel beautiful.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
My favorite Instagram use is @BrightonTheDay! Brighton is the happiest, most influential, and just kind woman all around that every time she posts, she gets her point across and literally brightens the day! Her style is always on point as well!!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Painting pumpkins! I am not sure if this is how I am supposed to answer this question, but all of my life I carved pumpkins with my family and within the week, they were all rotten and all of our pumpkins were gone by Halloween. Today, my youngest brother and I went pumpkin picking and brought them back, washed them, and painted out pumpkins! He made his the Mask from Friday the 13th, but, I made mine navy with beautiful flowers on it and it will last until past Thanksgiving now as a cute and simple decoration! I would totally suggest painting your pumpkins!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
My favorite part about being an influencer is that I have the ability to change other peoples lives. I know that it sounds cheesy coming from a woman who promotes clothing saying that she can change others lives, but I am called an influencer for a reason–I have an influence on so many people! I love making people love themselves in whatever they are doing with their lives. It is so important to acknowledge that everyone is different and they do not need to be put in a cookie cutter to be stamped into perfection.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
My top tips to brand running campaigns include making sure that the product is not specific to one very specific person. For example, if a brand is creating a special type of ear plug for deaf motorcyclists, that is an awesome thing for a very specific group to have, but if it does not relate to a decent amount of followers, it is not worth the brand’s time to promote it to an influencer who mainly focuses on fashion or music. Also, to make sure to choose influencers who believe in the brand to promote it instead of just doing it for money or fame. It is important to have passion in a product if you are going to promote it.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
My advice on the importance of original content is to not choose to promote a product if it does not stand out to you. If an individual is promoting something they know that their audience will not like, or something that they do not enjoy, then it is a waste of resources for both the brand and creator. Also, if you find brand you want to promote, make sure to make it fit into your theme of your page. For example, make up wipes for a musician page. Post about how easy it is to use the make up wipes after a late night performance to remove your makeup after!
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I like partnering with brands so I can make a difference and make people feel good about themselves. I can help brands grow and be seen by many people who might not know them.
