Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lisa Van Hole @VanHoleLisa

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Lisa Van Hole and I’m a small town girl from Belgium. At the moment I’m busy working on my blog and being a full time marketing student at HoGent. Apart from being a student/blogger, I also enjoy filling my weekends with some photography and going for a run. My dream since I was little was to move to the US of A and next year I’m finally able to study there for a period of three months.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Fashion. Simply fashion. I enjoy researching the latest trends by reading or watching YouTubers. During the weekends, my friends and I go “somewhere” and try to shoot my newest outfits so they can be posted on Instagram in the following week. Like I said I’m also working on a new blog so basically blogging is my new interest.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram handle is simply my first and last name put together. To be honest, I don’t prefer Instagram names that don’t have any recognition with the person owning the account, therefore I find it most relatable to use your own name. It’s also much easier for people to search you or remember you. A name that uses too much letters or symbols in it will probably be forgotten after awhile.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My favorite app is either VSCO cam or the editing software within Apple’s photo application. On VSCO cam I search for the best filter and then play around with the controllers. I basically adapt the picture to my Instagram profile. I do that by using UNUM, an app that shows you your Instagram account and gives you the ability of “uploading” a picture within the app so you can see how it will look once it’s uploaded on your profile.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

It’s actually a Belgian instagrammer named Matthias Geerts. He’s one of the best when it comes to combining completely different items of clothing and it always seems to work for him. He also travels around the world which is my goal in life.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Be themselves. I know you want me to write more than just 2 words but that’s just it. Always Be Yourself!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Having the ability to inspire others. I always try to be as honest and real as possible in my pictures because I want my followers to be a reflection of respect and love, and that starts by being it myself. Reading and leaving positive comments just really makes my day a little bit easier. I have had some bad days and just by going on Instagram it was made a little more fun because I got to connect with other people.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Connect with your clients and followers on a personal basis. Include them in your photo shoots, do give aways, react on their pictures or ask them to take a picture with your product. Just interact with them and you’ll see a big difference. I personally like brands more when they’re admirable and happy when they see that someone is wearing or using their product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality doesn’t matter. As one hero (Casey Neistat) once said, it’s the story that matters not the equipment or quality. Try to be original and find your own creation instead of duplicating someone. Originality beats everything.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Getting to know different products and entrepreneurs from all over the world. I’m a marketing student myself so for me it’s really educating to see how the business works apart from the theory we learn in school.
