Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Laura Yoko Maruyama Monteiro @yowegirlz

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a designer and visual artist. I’m currently living in São Paulo, Brazil.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love mostly fashion, beauty & arts. My Instagram is a visual poetry of a girl-typical post-modern lifestyle. It’s an inspiration panel of my image creations, products I feature and some personal stuff.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

@yowegirlz (reads: Yo! We girls) is a theatrical cut from all girls in the world waving for a compelling imagery content.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

#r4veapp #makeupplus #glitche #glitchwizard #leanified #bazaart #gifx #giffiti

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I don’t have any Instagrammer which I follow. I’m a fan of two Brazilian YouTubers: PC Siqueira, Whindersson loves and I also like the American JP Sears. These guys make me laugh a lot!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Instagrammers should risk more on image creation and break the rules of the standard motif.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I want people watching the world they already know but with a different perspective. My content is not cliche.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I’m a Millenial, and I’m pretty sure what the next generation, the “Z’s” are searching. They are a potential consumer for the over next years! My tip for any brand in the world is to approach their product into an unfinished aesthetics, for example, get rid of those artificial scenarios of cities, skinny models, and an endless background. The youth watches the content moving faster, something like Snapchat, so the psychology of colors aspect is more important than a retouched picture in Photoshop. The future will not be taken by what we see today as perfection.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I don’t copy references and I let my creation emerge from my soul.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I want to help them to reach a broader audience.
