Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lars Ivar Henriksen @triathlonlars

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Norwegian, born and raised. Very interested in the outdoors. I was a professional volleyball player in Denmark for several years before I decided to finish my studies. I now have a master in International Business Management, live in Denmark and spend most of my time training for The Escape of Alcatraz Triathlon while shooting videos and pictures for instagram.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Traithlon is the way I live, and through training I post training videos, pictures as well as landscapes.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s what I do and what I’m called put together. So it wasn’t too hard to figure out.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I am very conscious about this, and I only use the best. I never use filters or presets and I only use lightroom to edit either directly on my phone, or on my computer. All other apps are obsolete and redundant when I can use lightroom.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

It’s always fun to see what Casey Neistat or Jon Olsson is doing, but inside my niche I would say @TriatLars. He is another Norwegian instagrammer who have his own unique funny style.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I’d like people to focus less on looks and more on the story. Instagram is a bit superficial and people are swiping fast, but still try to focus on stories and not just how much skin can be shown.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Most of the time I just enjoy looking at other people and their way towards another triathlon. There are so many good stories out there to be followed.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think humor is a good focus for campaigns. Trying to make something that people need to take a look at for a second time. Many campaigns are extremely generic and tend not to have a personal ring to it. These are usually something I stay well clear of.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Again, it is very important, and it needs to be personal, especially when you are using micro-influencers to spread the love. These influencers have followers because they do something in a certain way. It’s important that the influencers can put their personal flair on the campaign.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the idea of meeting new people, listening to how they think and creating a dialogue where creativity can flourish. It’s a good way to network, and a fun way to make a living.
