Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kristina Prest @Prestpoutbeauty

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

To give you some insight on my background….here are 10FACTS: 1). My early years were spent growing up in the Bay Area in Marin County but I moved overseas with my family and lived in New Zealand for 11 years where I studied Cosmotology specializing in MUA. (2). I have worked as a hair stylist and in retail Management for M.A.C., Smashbox, Bobbi Brown and when I find the time these days I freelance for NARS Cosmetics. (3). I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work at many various fashion shows, I have worked with many high profile clients, My MUA/Hair editorial work has been published and I have worked on many photo shoots over the years. 4). I love how the beauty industry is constantly evolving/changing and there is always so many new techniques to be learned with makeup/hair/nails- I never want to stop growing and learning. (5). I currently am a freelance MUA working for myself and teaming up with the talented and beautiful artist @brandi.x0 (6). I love the process, the transformation and all the artistic aspects to applying make up on myself and others. (7). I try to remind myself that creativity is about making mistakes but embracing your art and appreciating the effort you put into it. Everyone is talented at something and I feel speaking from an artist point of view we need to be more kind to ourselves & others when viewing the art we/others create. (8). Makeup is not my only medium, I also draw/paint/sketch when I find the time- between being a Mom,Wife and Freelance MUA. I don’t get to create as much as I would like though. (9). I sincerely appreciate every person who follows me and I am so thankful and grateful for your support. I know my #MOTD can sometimes be a little out there! (10). My lip swatches & whole beauty Instagram hopefully will inspire other people not just MUA to experiment, grow, learn and enjoy the process of creating your own art. Instagram is a creative outlet for me.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post primarily Makeup/Beauty/Products/Lips and Macro-beauty photography.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My last name is Prest, and the account has beauty themed content.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

FaceTune or PicsArt for collages and any needed re-touching. I don’t always have to do any editing. Sometimes I use the editing in actual Instagram as well.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love following Cosmetic brands, they post relevant content that I can pull inspiration from.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

When I am doing makeup consultations or MUA on actual clients I always make sure they know the importance of a good skin care routine and priming/prepping the skin.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the beauty industry and creating art that can inspire people or introduce new products to people.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Try and be creative, branch out and experiment with your art and content.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

My only advice is to post clear photos with art you are proud of. The content you share should be your own work.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love finding new brands and sharing that information with people. I enjoy creating art with products sent to me by brands.
