Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kristen Ashley @thedreamingrebelle

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Born and raised in Kingston Jamaica. I moved to the US for school 8 years ago and now living in LA. I’m a sweet kind genuine person, who’s loyal to a fault sometimes and loves everything about art and being a creative! I studied architecture in school, but I’m now focusing on my true loves, Fashion and Photography.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Design, Art, Architecture, Plants, Fashion, Food, Photography and trying to get more into Travel and Beauty maybe.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My natural nature from my personality and sign is to rebel. I have recently began to learn how to go against the grain and do things for me. I am also a big believer of chasing your dreams. I like to consider myself a daydreamer, because I dream with eyes wide open. So @thedreamingrebelle (reb-elle ending in ELLE, because I’m a woman) because I am, and I do exactly what my name says. I dream and I reb-elle.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’ve been using Lightroom on my computer mostly. But through my phone I would say VSCO of course! And then the actual editing features through Instagram. Nothing too much.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

As of right now…@zhours, @tamirajarell, @imdrewscott, @beigerenegade. I think that would have to be my top 3 right now. I’m obsessed.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Jerk Chicken, Steamed Fish and Fried Bammi! I am from Jamaica and I rep hard for my country. Our food is amazing and I love everything about our little island!! I love spreading and sharing my culture with others!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Connecting and networking. I am very into meeting new people these days! I think I am beginning to realize that with my interests, I kind of have to be 🙂

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think just being true to your brand the best you can. If you remain true, then I feel like it will be easier to maintain your authenticity and what you stand for. I always think it’s easy for people to see straight through lies. I know I can.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Sometimes I feel it is a little hard to be as original these days, we are always being inspired by someone else, or things around us. I know I am. But creating quality and original content is what allows you to stand out from the rest. It’s just as important as building the relationships themselves.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the opportunity to connect through these platforms with people to bring awareness to their brands as well as mine.
