Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Juweria Jilani @justjilanithingsblog

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Greetings! I’m Juweria Jilani living a beautiful mess in Mumbai, India. Apart from being a science student, I am a fashion enthusiast which is what urged me to start my own fashion & beauty blog called “justjilanithings” Spontaneous and creative by nature, I enjoy travelling, watching movies and of course, blogging which is my fondest passion.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Growing up in the city of Bollywood, I was always attracted towards fashion and makeup! Undoubtedly, fashion and its related nuances is my main topic of interest apart from beauty, skincare and makeup. My Instagram is pretty much a vivid complication of my #ootds, favorite fashion trends of the season and the beauty products I have been digging lately.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Pretty self explanatory, every little quirk of mine is a symbol of my personality and thus, I like to call my various nuances as “justjilanithings” which comes from my surname “Jilani”. Initially, I thought it was a pretty cool alliteration, but now I’ve just stuck to it!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

To be very honest, I love pictures shot in natural lighting with minimal editing, but a little editing here and there is vital to get your Instagram shot on point. I like to use the IPhone editing tools to get the exposure, colour, contrast and brightness right and then use “pe-fotolr” to get rid of any unwanted marks or spots. Voila! The ideal Instagram post is ready!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Santoshi Shetty has been a major inspiration along with Riya Jain and Tess Christine who inspired me to start blogging and being an Instagrammer. Their fashion sense is phenomenal and moreover, their personality is what engages me. They are true to what they do and super-hardworking which is what sets them apart from the rest!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Screenception! There are tons of such pictures doing the rounds on our Instagram explore page where a particular scenery is shown through another screen’s camera, it’s very innovation and intriguing at the same time! Apart from that, of course a lively boomerang is a must!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Sharing pieces of your life through the Internet with tons of people from across the world whom you’ve never really met is Mind-bobbling in itself let alone, give others style inspiration or fashion advice. Ever since I’ve become an influencer, I have started interacting with more people and sharing ideas which has been a productive add-on to my personality.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

While running campaigns one must keep in mind that it is a “Collaboration” which simply means, a collaborative effort. My top tip would be to maintain a friendly relation, be understanding and give your 100% effort into your content creation, since that is what will favour future campaigns.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

In the age of technology where every second account is of a blogger’s or a content creator’s, quality and originality is of utmost importance. Yes, one can easily get caught up in the herd of sheep and try to imitate a particular aspect instead of getting inspired. One can only be successful when they’re true to their content, consistent and of course, put in tremendous effort to get the best quality!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering up with brands gives you the opportunity to try their products and infuse your own unique style into it. It not only adds content to your blog, but also helps one build relations and a decent network to share creative thoughts with similar minds. Partnering up with brands helps me maintain the quality of my blog too as I’m always pushed to put up something better each time.
