Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kennedy Zamora @vanityandsuch

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am from Orange County, California. I currently attend Chapman University while building my freelance makeup artist clientele. I run a blog about my favorite beauty topics and products as well! I love spending time with my husky– hiking, visiting the beach.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mostly post pictures of my makeup looks and favorite products (some sponsored, most chosen freely).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I practice writing calligraphy, and one day I was writing random words and those ones seemed to have nice ring to them. It even looks pretty on paper!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

For the most part I don’t use pre-made filters. I use PS Express to edit all of my pictures. On occasion I will use Vintique. To help my photos fit on Instagram I use Instasize.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Jaclyn Hill is by far my biggest inspiration– hence my red hair. She is the reason I started to purchase and practice using makeup.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

This is a tricky one. If I had to pick a makeup product it would be oval brushes. Sponges never really worked with my skin, but ever since I received a set from a brand I work with my life has been changed forever. My makeup always looks flawless now thanks to them!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to share my honest views and opinions with people. Gaining the trust of those who share the same passion as I is a pretty unique feeling.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

First off, I never consent to giving a 100% positive review. If a company choses to send me a product, I give my open and honest opinions. It is easy to become caught up in getting free or discounted products, but you always have to stay true to yourself.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Given that my work regularly gets posted without credit, I definitely encourage others to create their own content rather than simply repost others just for followers. If you put 110% effort into whatever you are doing, they will come!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Discovering new and innovative products has got to be my favorite part about partnering with brands. Many small brands are the ones that have new ideas that more popular ones may not have.
