1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
Hello! My name is Kennedy, I am a 18 year old freshman at the University of Cincinnati. Over the past few years I have developed a love for fashion, and opened two businesses in reflection of that – The Dress FanAttic and Kandid Boutique. These companies are my passion, so most of my posts are either fun little promotions or time spent out with my friends!
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I love fashion, dogs, and my friends; Most of which take over my Instagram.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Very basic-14-year-old-making-an-Instagram, first letter, middle name, and lucky number!!
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I love VSCO!! It’s amazing for editing pics and having them look natural, which is what I’m all about. I’m not a huge fan of filters for my pics, so most of the time you’ll just see some brightness and contrast adjustments to keep things looking natural!
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
SAVANNA MONTANO. She is my heart and soul Insta obsession (Pretty sure she’s most college girls female-crush). She’s a badass and she’s hot. She’s proud of her body and is making something of herself at such a young age and those are both very hard things to accomplish.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
I don’t have my notifications on for Instagram, and it’s probably one of my favorite things. For myself personally, it changed Instagram into a place to share the photos I loved, instead of the photos I thought would get the most likes.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
It’s really neat to have girls younger than me comment on pics or have my little sisters friends say things to her, because I’m just like your average college girl, and getting a lot of Instagram likes doesn’t change the person you are. So it’s cool that I can be myself and still be considered an “influencer”.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Find people to promote your brand that genuinely like your brand. I’ve denied many collaborations because they just weren’t for me, and I feel guilty promoting something I don’t actually like. I feel like people can tell when promoters are promoting for real vs. promoting for products and money, so try to find people that are very real with their posts.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
You know how hard you work for the PERFECT picture? Someone else worked that hard for theirs too, just respect it! If you love a pic and it fits your theme, give them credit and post it anyways!
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Partnering with brands is really awesome because I get to voice my honest opinion on something that I think the people following me would really enjoy. It’s a triple win. I get to promote a product, my followers get to hear about a product they might end up loving, and the brand gets advertisement. It’s such a fun gig!
