Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kathryn Franko @k8yfrankostein

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a professional dancer and an aspiring model. I came from a family who supported me through anything I wanted to do, as long as school was involved. However, my love for dance and modeling took over and before I knew it, I was falling behind in school. I made a compromise with my parents. Im getting my certificate from home to be a personal trainer and nutritionist. My plan A is continue with dancing and long as I am able to. I am a co-director for a company called “Soul Fresh Fam” who gets paid to travel different countries and states as headliners for various shows. I am also a seasonal worker at Universal Studios Hollywood. I am building my portfolio for modeling at the moment so I may be signed under and agency by the end of next year. I love working hard for what I’m passionate about and I won’t stop until Iv reached my goals.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love showcasing my dancing. I will post a lot of performances I do and many freestyles. Recently, I have been posting a lot of lifestyle shoots. I love showing people what Im doing with my day and how I like to dress. I love posting about all the work I’m putting in daily, whether its dancing or modeling because Im hoping that others will get inspired to do the same thing. I know it can be sort of scary trying something new, so I like showing people all the opportunities there are for them.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

In elementary, a couple kids used my last name “Franko”, and turned it into “Frankostein” like “Frankenstein” and it just stuck with me. Plus to be completely honest, when i first started my Instagram, I just wanted it to be something that would stick in peoples heads. Although it’s not as professional as it should be, I like showing that I’m not just all about business, but I’m also creative and fun!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t edit photos often. I believe that especially with professional pictures, they should only be touched by the photographer who took them so they stay realistic. I want people to know how I really look. I want it to be genuine. On the other hand, if i can a selfie or a photo with my own phone, then the most I use is the editing options on Instagram. I feel that they give enough editing tools to make my pictures pop.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are many dancers on Instagram who inspire me daily. However, when it comes to modeling, @pizzapizza_nissa was one of the first models I started following who motivated me the most. I absolutely love her pictures whether they are professional or just daily ones taken on her phone. She works with all the companies I’ve only dreamt of working with and seeing her actually do it, makes me super expected to put in the work and achieve similar goals. First I just noticed her on Instagram, but when I started seeing her at my favorite stores on posters, I really felt, like I could do the same. Her style also pushed me to start dressing the way I’ve always wanted to also.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would personally say, to try putting your passion out there on social media. Especially on Instagram, any user can post daily about what there passionate about. Whether its dancing or art or their business. If their not using Instagram as a tool to connect with others, then I feel they’re loosing out on so many opportunities.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Like I said before, I think one of the best things about posting is getting to inspire someone else to do what they want. Knowing that so many people follow me, I know that every time I post an achievement or a performance or a molding shot, someone on the other end is going to get excited to start doing the same thing. Many people feel hesitant about following their dreams, but if they have someone to look up to or they see a friend on Instagram doing then they will think to themselves, “Hey, why can’t I do the same thing?”.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would say just to give the influencer freedom to take your brand and associate within their own lives. I think that the only way it will seem authentic is letting the influencer show it in their own way on Instagram. Whether they do it in a super creative way, or if its just a causal thing like its part of their daily routine or lifestyle.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think, having good quality pictures and videos are always the way to go. People will be more interested and it looks more professional and cool. However, I believe that throwing in a few random shots of you and your friends or your location is always fun, because it also keeps the profile looking like its ran by a real person. It reminds people that your doing great things because you have all this great content, but anyone can do it if they really wanted to because they’re just like any other ordinary person on here.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love getting to show their product in my lifestyle. I think working with different brands also allows me to show a lot of versatility in what my daily life is like and all the new things I get to try and experiment with. The best is when I actually get to build a connection with the brand, because thats one of the most important parts in business, building your network, while having fun.
