Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Katelyn Saunders @ksaunsderulo

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Katelyn Saunders, I am an Arizona native (still living in AZ) which is very rare. I work full time as an accounting coordinator for a hospitality company and then I am building an ecommerce telecom and energy business part time.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love all aspects of life. Really, I do. Topics that interest me the most would be fashion, fitness, personal/spiritual growth, business, travel. A lot of my pictures on instagram have to do with what is going on in my life, there is not one area that I focus on the most. It ranges from me at a coffee shop, to me at an international airport.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

This is actually really funny. My name is Katelyn Saunders and growing up a lot of people just called me ‘saunders’ and then one of my girlfriends in high school started calling me K-Sauns. That started to spread throughout the student body and before I knew it almost everyone called me by that. Then one day in high school art class one of my guy friends called me (more like sang) ‘K-sauns-derulo’ — he sang it just like Jason Derulo sings his name. That stuck real fast. That is when I decided to adopt the name on social media. Since then I have people compliment it all the time, I was going to change it to my first and last name instead but i thought ‘nah,that’s boring’ so I kept it — I think it kinda shows people my funny personality.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the idea of being an influencer because I think that it is the way of advertising. Business is shifting and businesses are scrambling trying to advertise their products and services. Having influencers and brand ambassadors is really genius. I love that I can try out the product or service FOR REAL and give my followers real reviews.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the more real you can portray yourself, the better. Anyone can smell a phony person a mile away, especially on the internet. So be real, be you.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think this is important because if you cannot truly create your own content then you arent really doing the social media world any good. The more original the content the better and the more likely that you followers will engage with you further.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like getting to know the brands and trying out their products.
