Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Kamogelo Thutoetsile @Cam_withlove

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a young Motswana who is currently a medical student at the Univeristy of Cambridge. I would love to be a doctor medicine is essentially my first love. But i’m also a fashion blogger and a writer , those two are my other loves . They give me an voice, rom to be more creative and also keep me grounded and very much excited and happy about life.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Fashion
Encouragement and honesty , i’m really about inspiring people and getting inspired there is far too much hate and unhealthy competitiveness in this world.
Occasionally flat lays: shoes, drinks, things i like etc

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Every body calls me ‘Cam’ and so i used that , and added _withlove to it because for me God is love , as a Christian god is Love . And so cam_withlove literally means Cam with God. And indication that i really owe everything to God, this journey through blogging and fashion and writing is a journey with God too, and this is very evident in the blog as a whole.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Essie ( my photographer) takes the photos most of the time.
From there i suppose she cleans them up somehow ( i really don’t know)
If i’ve taken the shot myself, i’ll go on VSCO cam, and snapped just to make the whites whiter. But generally i find the iphone/ipad settings sufficient to tweak brightness , light and contrast .

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

They are all amazing, what they do with colour and fashion is impeccable and they all have different stamps. I love that !!!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Lighting : even if it’s a selfie lying light , or a reflector my gosh it makes a DIFFERENCE

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

When someone sends in a message either through the blog and instagram to say that I’ve don’t something for them, whether it’s inspire , or move or they ask for advice . The fact that what i do matters , is for me the best part of it all.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It sounds elementary but honestly , BE YOURSELF ALWAYS . And i know that’s hard. So what helps is documenting from the get go who you are , what your brand is about what it represents what it does not represent. This was it is clear in your mind and in writing , and the days you feel disoriented , go back to that and see if you’re inline with it. Ofcourse be flexible grow , but never forget your fundamentals, that’s what creates the ‘stamp’

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I’d rather not post , than post something of poor quality. Because it sticks, it’s there , and so it represents the brand . Quality is more important that quantity . Start first with it and work your way up to making more content .
Original content: the internet has made the world small. So trust me we know the picture of white roses is not yours . It comes across as lazy , and obviously unoriginal especially if people don’t even credit the true creative behind it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The thumbs up it essentially is .
It’s refreshing to work on and with a different brand to my own .
A different outlook to my brand, or they highlight a aparticular aspect .
And how fun it all is, i always enjoy it so much, new people , new voices the whole thing .
