Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Julia Daoud @simplyjules__

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Julia Daoud and I am the Chicago based blogger behind one of the Midwest’s most influential and internationally known blog, Simply Jules. Simply Jules is your elegant source of simplistic luxury and lifestyle.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Simply Jules is not your typical blogger. The content I produce is of a more editorial-like nature and focuses on fashion and lifestyle. The storytelling through my imagery always tells the reader something deeper and that style is a reflection of something more.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I was very hesitant at first to start a blog. All of the other bloggers I followed had such extravagant style that was much different from mine. I remember asking my friends how someone with such a simple style could be a fashion blogger… and that’s how Simply Jules was born!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If I shared wouldn’t we all be doing the same thing?

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There is so much inspiration out there that it’s hard to even create a list of some of my favorites. I look up to a lot of influentials such as The Blonde Salad, Negin Mirsalehi and Kristina Bazan.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Right now it has to be the overnight face cream by Tula. Tula uses probiotics in their formula and works with your skin to auto renew itself overnight. My skin has never felt better!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I am doing what I love.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be careful with who you work with. The blogging industry has become so over saturated that brands work with bloggers without consulting the potential ROI. A big tip is to develop a long term relationship to ensure the highest quality of work.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

You need to love it and you need to have passion for it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love building relationships! Working with brands is more than just getting free stuff. It’s meeting people and learning about the story behind the brand and why they do what they do… and then how that aligns with the values practiced at Simply Jules.
