Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Josh Blaylock @mancrediblebeauty

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi! My name is Josh Blaylock and I’m 35. I’ve lived in NYC for a very long time but I’m still a good ol’ country boy from Indiana. Yes, there’s more than corn in Indiana!

I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over a decade heading up business development.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are beauty, grooming and overall lifestyle. I love posting reviews about new and current beauty and grooming products along with beauty tips and tricks on how to create a successful skin and haircare routine that works for you. I do not review or discuss cosmetics or make-up.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I noticed there was a myriad of male grooming-only bloggers and male bloggers who specifically focused on make-up/cosmetics but zero guys who talked about beauty skin/haircare and grooming together. Having worked in the beauty industry for as long as I have, I’ve had the opportunity to use and fall in love with so many beauty brands and wanted to introduce and share my reviews with the world. It’s “beauty from a male point of view!”

I’ve also had the opportunity to meet so many fab beauty experts who have shared with me their beauty tips on such things as “the correct way to dry your hair’ and “how to wash your face correctly!”.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I’d be happy too!
FIRST! It’s all about Facetune 2. Have you checked out their new tools? It’s the best app out there to fix shadows, lighting, background issues, oily faces, fix tired eyes, etc.
SECOND: When it comes to filters you have to be consistent. I love to use the VSCO app for mine in place of Instagram’s. A few that I love using on the app are A6,7 & 8.
THIRD: When I’m ready to post on Instagram, I still have a little more editing to do. I always add bit of saturation which always looks nice and a bit of warmth.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Well, Michelle Phan is the Queen of ALL beauty bloggers. I would love to sit down with her and pick her brain.
Annie from She’s In the Glow site is pretty incredible.

Justin Livingston and his Scout Sixteen instagram and blog are a huge inspiration.
I also love Will Taylor and his Bright Bazaar IG and Saul Rasco and his TrendStyled IG.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Facetune2. I’m not kidding, the new features are awesome!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part has been interacting with people all over the world and learning about new innovative brands that are launching. I love when I run into people and they tell me about how they never thought about how they were drying their hair before my tutorial video or they were just splashing plain old soap on their before reading my beauty reviews. It’s really inspiring!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My number one tip is to be sure to create an open dialogue with the brand you’re working with. Make sure to stay genuine and brain storm to create the right campaign that works for both of you.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Top quality thoughtful photos and original content always wins in the end. Buy a journal and jot down ideas about what you can do to continue creating something new that your audience will love and LIKE!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I’m a beauty fanatic! Learning about all of the new and different evolving formulas of skin and haircare and how they work for me and my skin are really exciting and I love sharing my new findings. Also, meeting some incredible brand owners, beauty experts, etc. is pretty great as well.
