1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I was born in Tuscaloosa, AL…ROLL TIDE & I recently moved to Atlanta, GA which is the food capital of the south.I spent my entire life in Alabama, until I decided to join the Army in the middle of my Sophomore year of college. I currently serve as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army with 10 years of service as a medic. I enjoy working out, reading, & traveling.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Of course I enjoy fitness, since my career requires it but with fitness comes a veracious love of food. I also enjoy reading a good book & sharing great places to travel to. I post a lot of pictures about great places to dine at, always looking to share the next meal & show people what places to dine at. I also post the occasional fitness workouts in my story or great motivational book I’m reading in my story. If anything is true, it’s the simple fact that I love food! I live to eat!
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram name actually came from some of my Army coworkers. One day they came to me with a cut out from a Muscle Milk protein shake box that said Chocolate Muscle. They said we’re going to call you that because you’re chocolate & of course you’re muscular, always in the gym working out. Everybody said every time we see you you’re eating, but you stay so fit & that’s how I came up with the name.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
The app I use the most for editing my photos is the Google photos app. It does everything this somewhat tech savvy guy can do.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I really enjoy the posts from a guy name @cookdrankeat & @onehungryjew, they always post good quality material that looks out of this world! I’m inspired by a variety of foodies in general, I just go around looking for other foodies who have good pages I can follow so I can learn to improve myself.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
If you live in Atlanta you should go & try an amazing doughnut place by the name of Doughnut Dollies, the donuts are soooo amazing & the themes are always different. Also if you live near Voodoo donuts, that’s one of my go to doughnut shops when I’m in Denver because of the craziness of their doughnut themes.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
My favorite part is leading others in the right direction. Hopefully I can keep you from wasting your time or money if I happen to find a good place to dine at or travel too. Yelp was how I got started & how I still find places to dine at when I’m out of town traveling. I just think that an average person, not a celebrity recommending a place means more to everyone else since you know that person isn’t being paid just to advertise to you.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Just making sure you give authentic reviews. Don’t give a review if the place really sucked that bad, remember you’re doing this to spread the word about good places. Find people who use your product or like the style food you’re selling before they become a part of your campaign, not someone looking just to make a quick buck!
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Just remember why you started doing it & your followers will eventually figure you out. The only way to get a good following & have that influence with them is to post good quality content or people will find someone else to follow who posts good content. Remember it has your name stamped on that page, so take pride in the work you do & you’ll eventually get noticed for it.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I just enjoy the opportunity of sharing good products with my friends & family. Being able to give a review from a regular guy than a celebrity always gets my attention.
