Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Isabella Argosino @argowho

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Argo, like the movie. I’m a freelance writer, creative hooligan, and cold beer connoisseur. In my spare time, I like to make sh*t happen (sorry, am I allowed to say that?). This includes everything from shoots and article features, to music festivals and bar gigs. I balance everything while finishing my double degree in Psychology and Marketing at De La Salle University. This one was built for da hustle!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love music, food, art, and travelling. I make it a point to try something new as often as I can — whether it means climbing a mountain, doing a new work-out, or going to an exhibit I know nothing about. A lot of my adventures are documented on my instagram. I like to make the most thrill out of anything, from my nature trips and museum visits, to concerts and simple photo walks around the city. Life should be celebrated everyday, not just on the weekends.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My last name is ‘Argosino’, and my nickname is ‘Argo’. In my Filipino language, ‘sino’ translates to ‘who’. Put those two together and you’ve got Argowho. More than just a pun, though, my username is also a question, and my pictures are the answer. Who is Argo?

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I like my photos to be as natural as possible, so i just do a little tweaking with VSCO.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Style-wise, I love @rackandrouge. For adventures and such, I love twins @trasienne and @tracianne. For art, I enjoy @baronvonfancy and @louiscarreon.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Hiking! It can be intimidating especially when you aren’t physically fit or used to being in the outdoors, but there’s a place for everyone. The natural high you get at the top is priceless!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I despise the culture that entails all you need to be ‘influential’ is popularity and good looks. Personally, I want to be influenced by people who have a real story to tell. I’m a writer, and I express myself well through words. The reason I like writing so much is because I always have this need to share a story worth telling. I also like taking pictures, and that, too, is a great medium for sharing experiences. I would say that as an influencer, I would pick my brands well and make sure it suits me and my lifestyle. I would only want to share something I believe in. That way, it’s so much easier to market it to my followers, and I am genuine about it. Both my followers and the brand I’m promoting don’t need anything half-assed.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Like I mentioned earlier, I maintain authenticity by only promoting things I actually believe in.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

A lot of ‘influencers’ see the job as just a means to make money. What happens is quality for content gets compromised. To influence someone is a great opportunity to bring out the brands that matter but may not have the same privilege of popularity that big name brands do, to an audience that is listening and watching. It is not a role to be taken for granted, because you could be changing lives with a simple post. A follower could see it and be like, ‘wow this is what I’ve been looking for all along.’

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like that I get to interpret to other people what the brand means to me personally. It goes beyond traditional marketing, billboards, and commercials. More than just marketing a product, I’m marketing a real experience.
