Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ida Jamal @Eyeda_chan

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a mother to 2 adorable (half chinese, half malay) girls. My obsession with beauty started in 2010 after i graduated from TSMU with a diploma in makeup. As my makeup collection grew, so is my love for fashion. I come from our sunny island, Singapore!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Most of my posts are beauty and fashion related. Sometimes with inspiring quotes to liven and inspire anyone who needs (or don’t need) it. Once in awhile i post pictures of my beautiful family and what i did with them because they are the reason i am here.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I am known as Ida so i decided to gv it a little spelling twist and it ended up with : Eyeda. And Chan is my husband’s surname because he is Chinese so legally, i am a “Chan” !

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I would usually adjust the brightness of the photo(if required) with the standard iphone photo editor. I would then use typorama to add my quotes or use pic collage to combine my photos. Sometimes i will use IG’s filter to add a touch of drama to my photos!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Nikkie Tutorials and Shaanxo. While Nikkie does great tutorials that are beautiful and fun, Shannon has great clothing hauls and lip swatches and her makeup collection is every girls’s dream!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try to stay away from your phone for 24hrs and i bet you can’t! ?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I hope to inspire, especially those who have a different story behind it. While my photos may be projected as happy but not everyone can tell that i battle with depression before so i hope that i can inspire people too.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would say, get real honest people. Consistency is the key to authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

A good content is one where repetition should be avoided. If the same photos are posted over and over again over several days just so you could have one post a day, it decrease the quality because you are not creating new contents. To be original, just be yourself and keep doing what you love because you want people to know who you really are, not someone who is fake and plastic.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It is a new way to discovering new brands, widen your social circle and enjoying the things you love to do!
