Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Helen Kufre @kufre_helen

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Helen, I’m 20 years old. I’m a makeup artist, working and living in Nigeria, which is where I’m from.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love makeup, taking pictures, I love getting glam and having fun. I love sleeping, a lot. I also love eating (you can tell from my Instagram stories lol).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I’ve been through a number of Instagram handles, but I finally settled for the one I currently use- my name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use VSCO Cam and Photogrid, that’s all.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Nyane Lebajoa’s page (I hope I’m not murdering her name lol). She posts mostly fashionable and makeup, I like her posts. I also like @loje.loje ‘s page. She does fashion but I follow her for her makeup videos.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I don’t know, but if you don’t like sausages, prawns/shrimps and Turkey, please fix up and try them now.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Getting paid to do things I love, like makeup, dressing up, etc.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it’s very important to promote brands and products that you genuinely like or relate with, not just because of the money. It helps build your relationship with your audience when the products you promote ate products they have seen you use outside of sponsorships. Also helps maintain authenticity. Promote products you genuinely like and build a good relationship with your audience in a way that they trust you and your word on products.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s very important to give good quality and original content. You don’t want to just throw whatever out there, your followers are human beings, they will eventually get tired of being fed with substandard and low quality content. People don’t want to invest their time and money in “rushed work” or content that make it very clear that you didn’t put any time or effort into it. Your audience is very important. You can’t sell products to people that think you don’t care about them.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Getting to try out a variety of products or services and put people on to amazing stuff.
