Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Gregory Hagar @newneighbors

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I come from a loving home in maryland. Brought up always being told I was special and would make a change. I spent a lot of time on the country side as a child around my older relatives when not in school in the suburbs during the year. I always explored and like finding new things that intrigued me. I always shared my new findings with my friends who would love them. Weather that be music, fashion, food, or activities they would love the things I share with them and spread them through out the town until I came with something newer.
I currently make a living thru a small production company I co-own and consulting.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Topics that interest me currently are design(fashion, products, thought), travel, bringing the world together to become a better place for all, and moving forward.
On Instagram I post mainly design photos that range from architecture, furniture, interior design, product design, cars, fashion, nature, and art. All with a very eye catching appealing look of the same aesthetic.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name came about while sitting and thinking of someone that is close to you but you know nothing about. Someone who you want to know about, but sometimes be hard to approach always wondering whats in the home or the lifestyle tat your new neighbors live. But also in the sense of bringing people of different backgrounds together that all share in the same aestheitc to talk and open up about the things they are interested in and sharing.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only edit photos using VSCO on my phone.
Since I travel a lot my photo editing usually takes place on a plane with head phones on blasting some of my favorite new music.
I look out the window for a few seconds then open VSCO and upload all pictures I have taken recently and loved and go thru them one by one. Normally may take about 3-5 mins just scrolling thru the different adjustments trying different contracts and temperatures until I find what makes me happy.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@designwanted is an istagrammer that I really like and appreciate, when I just started my page I was just looking for shoutouts trying to grow. They gave me some really valuable information that helped me get consistent new followers and loyal followers. So @designwanted inspired me the most off of that.
As far as content on ig @ignant an online magazine always has pretty nice content that I love to look at.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Ramen Reimagined the original “RamenBurger” by Keizo Shimamoto

Simply amazing

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Helping people find things they don’t know they like yet. Enriching lives through getting people to try new things, experience the best the world has to offer, let people know there’s mor out here and its great. Going back and seeing people 2-3 years late and they are deeply emerged into a new subculture, hobby, or treat, and now they are telling me about new things that I should try and look out for, (Thats what I ove about it) Finding that new idea that came from introducing someone else to an idea that was new for them at one point.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I’ve had trouble with this my whole but I am trying to shake it. Don’t be afraid to share your experiences with people, give them the details, the truth, the raw facts.
Everything is weird until it is cool.
I remain authentic by never settling and always finding what I want in life.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

To me quality is just a feeling so if you can feel something by what you are making and putting out there do it. If it doesn’t make you feel some kind of way leave it alone. Make people what to know who is that, what are they doing, when is this happening again, where is this, why am i not doing this.
Original content is important because your view on the world is all we want to see.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Creating new friends that share similar ideas and making those ideas spread. Long lasting partnerships that create a family bond and bring different worlds together for a good purpose. Creating new opportunities!
