1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m from Indonesia, but I’ve lived in Singapore, LA & NY, so I kind of feel like I’m from all over the place. In my spare time, I do weird makeup and take too many selfies, in my real life job, I’m a product manager.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I blog a LOT about makeup. I blog about fashion too, but people know me for my makeup.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
I have monolids and I have to work with them.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Diptic to make collages, Line Camera to add my watermark (though this got really difficult after their latest update, so I’m looking for a new app), and that’s pretty much it. Maybe the iPhone editing feature to fix the colour every now and then if I have time…I don’t really have time for photo editing, so I try to make sure I get the pictures right the first time so I can save time editing.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
@mylipstickshelf, @yasss.slayyyy, @wink818, @pinkishpiendel…these ladies & gentleman are so amazing and they all inspire me greatly. I can’t pick just one!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Yellow lipstick. It’s surprisingly really flattering.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I never considered myself an influencer, but I think the fun thing about my account is meeting a lot of amazing people through it. I really enjoy chatting with my followers, and I’ve met tons of awesome people that way.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I think the less requirements, the better. Let the influencers do the talking, because there’s a reason why they’re popular – they know the right thing to say. Don’t insist on having your marketing tagline (which is often so very cheesy) in the caption/video. You might as well pay for an ad. The message loses it’s authenticity, the influencer loses his/her credibility…it’s a lose-lose situation.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
It’s damn important.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
Discovering new products!
