Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Evie Tan Ee Qi @evie.eeqi

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am Evie, I am 22 years old this year. I am from Malaysia and I graduated from Bachelors Degree in Accountancy. Actually I only have Evie as my nickname during my college internship programme in a company. Never think off a nickname before this because I thought there would be no problem for everyone calling my real name, Ee Qi. However, it somehow difficult to pronounce it for some people and they just end up calling you “hey that little girl”. So I have tried to interview with Human Resources department with my nickname on and everyone just known me so easily! I have made a lot of friends out of working colleagues, too. Hence, I thought I would like to startup my social media carrier using my nickname !

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Lifestyle of an ordinary girl in Malaysia. I would like to make my daily routine looks a little bit more colourful than in real life on internet. Everything cute and crafty would have been posted by me on Instagram, including my own portrait, my bulletjournal updates and more.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

@evie.eeqi, it’s just my nickname together with my real name. People who want to know me or look for mewill probably search for my name. So, I guess my real name as my Instagram name will be easier for people to know me.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Snapseed for adjusting the brightness, contrast and white balance. Then, go to Foodie for selecting filters, maybe it’s for food but I love all the filters inside and I just use it on mostly all my photos. Sometimes I like to use PicsArt to have the blur filter on my photo and create a deep focus kind of look even the photo was not.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love @lavendaire ‘s everything. Her YouTube videos are so inspiring and linked me to her Instagram account and I love how to spread positivity spirit with the bring and beautiful theme !

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Maybe commenting anything they think about me? Either good one or bad one, praising me or roasting me, and even giving me some advice or ideas!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I’m not sure I’m an infleuncer yet because I only been working with 2 brand before. So, I think based on my least experience here, my favourite part would be getting known more brand and things in this community. For instance, the cosmetics brand that I’ve been worked with is a local brand which is based and made in Malaysia which I never known before. I am excited to know more new things.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I usually will asked for proper instructions, rules and regulation for promoting the products before posting out any photos. So that I can show my creativity without ruined into any privacy and confidential problem.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

The quality of a photo with the brand who worked with must be excellent in terms of the quality of the photo, the caption for describing the brand and replying comment honestly. The original content must be owned and belongs to the owner so that everything is unique and trustable.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The best thing would be trying out their products and give them the honest feedback. The brand usually will ask for your opinion and feedback on their products. So while testing new things out, you got the chance to learn new things too.
