1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I’m currently living in Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK), and have been now for 10 years, but I’m originally English. I just recently got married to the man of my dreams on October 24th, 2016 and now enjoying our first home together and everything that comes with being newly married. I am currently doing some work with Guess in retail and managing their jewellery and watches but my aim for the future is to narrow my focus on The Little Chronicles blog (and Instagram!) and work hard at it full time.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I really enjoy to write, thats why blogging is so perfect for me. But I also am a great lover of fashion and clothing which is a big focus to The Little Chronicles. With my job, I do a lot of personal styling which has always come naturally to me, and what I love about this is that we have women of all ages come in. I’m a big believer in fashion being for everyone, and really using it to create your own style, a style that you feel comfortable in.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram name is the name of my blog. I wanted to keep it all the same, it helps readers (and hopefully companies) find me. Finding a unique name for your blog/instagram is tricky. It’s got to be original but also suit you and what you’re creating. The name came from thinking about what my blog really is, which is little stories, pictures, thoughts from me. I then thought of the Narnia books, and was hooked on the word Chronicles. Basically, its the little (5’1) chronicles of me and the things I’m crazy about. I’ve always been enthusiastic about fashion, and I’m a big beleiver in being honest about myself and the things I love.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
For Instagram I like to use a mixture of apps, I like to use Afterlight, only because I’ve always used it and I’m a little nervous about using anything else and also the simple editing software on Instagram. I never use filters (unless its black and white) I mostly use brightener, a little sharpening, and toning down the temperature of my photos slightly seems to really set them off.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I love the cuteness of @simplybychar, @weworewhat oozes style and I love @katelavie and her homey posts and inspiration. Instagram is so diverse, theres just too many to love!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
I’m not sure whether this is the correct answer to the question or not.. but a Baileys hot chocolate. Until this Christmas I had never tried it and I am completely hooked. Can’t forget the squirty cream and toppings too. Plus, it makes for an extremely cosy Insta post!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I enjoy reading everyones comments, their questions and being able to answer them honestly. I love being able to inspire other people as they have done me, especially through style. I also love being able to bring to the table new things they may not have seen or heard of before. Its great to bring to light local companies or smaller businesses that just don’t get the recognition they should do on things like Instagram, and I love to be a part of that in whatever way I can.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I like to expose brands in a natural way, weave their product or service into my every day life. I like to think about how I myself would like to see something projected on Instagram, and do it in a way so that other people could easily see their own need/use for it.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Quality should be in your pictures and your description below the picture. But your content should be original to you and your Instagram, it should have a sprinkling of you in it, its what your followers want to see, and this is ultimately what will help the campaign be a success. Both for you, and the company.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
I am helping them expose themselves, but I am also exposing them to my friends and my followers showing them something new and some thing I genuinely believe is great. In turn it helps me get myself, my Instagram and blog out there. I also love finding out about new brands I haven’t heard about and getting to know them. There are so many amazing companies out there with amazing products, just waiting to be properly explored and exposed.
