Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Emily Stewart-Wooler @thats_just_emily

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m 18, going on 19 in a few weeks time. I’m currently at university in Bristol in the UK (it’s a such a great city!) doing English Literature.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram is a sort of hub for updates about my blog. I run a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog called That’s Just Emily and that translates over to my Instagram. It shows my outfits, or the products I’m loving at the moment, a little place to share my thoughts really (as well as my blog).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Because it’s mainly for my blog, I thought it would be more simple to find me and my blog and my Instagram if they all shared the same name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Natural lighting is EVERYTHING! Since it’s now winter, I have a very short timeframe of good natural lighting, so I tend to bulk shoot photos. I love using Photowonder to help adjust the lighting if it’s needed and sharpen up the photo to make sure the quality is up there. I take the photos on my phone (iPhone 5S) and always try and shoot my photos in the square frame so I know it’s all going to fit into the picture!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I am completely in love with Tash Oakley. I just love her feed and how gorgeous both she and her photos are. I’m also a huge Zoella fan (then again, who isn’t!?).

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Sarah Chapman’s Overnight Facial serum. You just have to try it, I wake up with my skin smooth soft and glowing. I was lucky enough to be given some, and now I have it I am definitely going to have to repurchase it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to share my thoughts and passions with like-minded people. And to think people are actually interested in hearing what I think is just the most humbling thing ever. I also love talking to my followers and readers, they’re just so supportive and I’m so grateful for that.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I truly think an honest opinion is key. I always try and be as upfront with companies and businesses I work with by saying I will say my honest opinion in any posts I write about them. Otherwise, I feel people will just start to think you’ll just say nice things about anything and everything if someone gives it to you. That does by no means mean I’m ungrateful for being gifted things, I just want to make sure my followers know exactly what they’re getting before they purchase the product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Stick to what you’re interested in and try not to be swayed by what everyone else is doing, otherwise, you might get lost in the crowd- don’t be scared to stand out. When it comes to quality, that takes a little time and effort (and sometimes a little money), but I promise it pays off.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

When I work with a company whos products I love, I just love how easy it is. I love sharing a passion for a brand who loves what they do and works hard at it, and I love being able to be a part of their journey.
