Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Doreen @verdantfaerei

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

At present I am on a quest for beauty. I thirst for it, and the world needs it. I have been traveling and connecting with people I have meet through SM and through my passions. I consider it a sacred mission to bring beauty and magic I find into the world through my presence as well as SM. I have a background in theatre and have done a lot of that plus yoga.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I am passionate about nature, scent/perfume, travel, and faeries. I have so many interests that it’s hard to choose! I often post beautiful images of faerie type things that are fun, beautiful and inspiring. I also promote my perfume line and blog through Instagram.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name was ceremonially given to me by the faerie queen. Ok, just kidding, a little. The name was an inspiration and a result of brainstorming words that would evoke lush, potent, enchanting images.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I am an iPhone user and use the most basic of tools. Either filters and cropping provided on the iphone, or on iPhoto on my laptop. I have training and experience in visual arts which helps me to create striking images. I really dig finding interesting angles to shoot and cropping to highlight the concept behind the image. I am thinking to upgrade to a real camera soon!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I follow the faerie and perfumer path. Faerie_style, theredolentmermaid, the greenwoodslaugh, thornandbloom, illuminatedperfume, purepresence, cafleurbon, faeriemagazine, voiceofnature.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would have to say folks should just comment on each others posts!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part is connecting with actual people! What a wonderful world. There is so much bad stuff happening and that is mostly what is presented in the news. So finding this world of friendly, brilliant, kind people is an unexpected plus.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

People want to be delighted with eye candy, but also love to connect. Successful campaigns reveal not only the benefits of the product, but also the people behind the product. Particularly in this virtual world people want to know other folks, real people, are out there – living, breathing, laughing, loving…

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Original content starts with composition. Visually drawing the viewer in. Writing should provide information, but always leave a bit to the imagination. Working together to invite the viewer.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Honestly, I have not partnered with brands all that much. What attracts me is uncovering the magic of the brand and discovering how to showcase this.
