Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Diana @dianamiaus

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a Travel blogger from Spain and at the moment I’m preparing my next trip! My Xmas getaway will be a road trip through northern Spain and in a couple of months I will be surrounded by the magical landscapes of Iceland and luckily, by its northern lights. I’m also collecting votes for a Travel Bloggers Trip to India!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My instagram is generally about Travel and Outdoors Photography but sometimes, Lifestyle, Home Decor, Beauty and Fashion are the highlights. In any case, I always try to keep my posts related with Travel and Landscapes.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

This is a strange story. When I first signed up on Facebook in 2008, I didn’t want my real name to appear on it, so instead of my family name I used “Miaus” which actually means nothing but at the same time, is kind of the plural of “meow” in Spanish. Suddenly, tons of people started calling me Miaus so I started my Travel Blog and instagram account with that name too. A more travel related handle would be more desirable, don’t you think?

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I used a lot of them! If I can I use Lightroom and I design my own presets. Sometimes I use VSCO, Facetune and also Instagram.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I’m inspired by a bunch of intagramers, and I specially follow travel female accounts. My favorites are @taramilktea, @gypsea_lust and @helloemilie, among so many others.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try discovering new places for your shootings. Every city has tons of beautiful places. A wall, a garden with flowers, a rock in the middle of nowhere… Simple places can make the difference.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Working with brands is great! Featuring products makes you develop your creativity. As I said before, I like to keep everything Travel related and sometimes it’s a challenge.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Let the instagramer create and state a flexible schedule for the publication. Caption is as important as the picture, so don’t try to use a lot of hashtags, sometimes only one is more powerful.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Find your style but beware about your more successful posts to find out what your followers like the most. I used to shoot landscapes but I found out that if I was in the picture I was getting more engagement, so that’s what I try to do now.
Besides, do not copy other accounts and find a personalized theme.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It’s challenging, and I really love challenges. My account is mostly about Travel and I’m able to create campaigns for a wide range of products without losing my authenticity.
