Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Demi Owusu @Demiowusu

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a highschool student from New York City who grew up with a creative background. I love art and fashion and I’m growing into a person who wants to produce art full time and share things that inspire me. I love to express myself through makeup, being in front of a camera is probably one of the most comfortable places I can be. Any time I can express myself through any form of art I am my happiest.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

One of my favorite things to study and learn about is probably science especially biology and chemistry. I also lost surrounding myself with creativity. I appreciate art, any thing for beautiful landscapes to makeup to photography, which I love to regularly feature on my Instagram. I also enjoy posting on fitness and lifestyle. It’s a great way to connect with people and a good conversation starter on our similarities

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is my name lol. I was at one of my best friends house and we were all stressing on “cool” names to use on our instagrams and after stressing for maybe 30 minutes we just put our own names.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Usually when I’m posting a picture I go for 3 apps in particular, aviary, VSCO, and if there’s a collage I use picjoiner but that’s usually for posts about my new YouTube videos. I mainly focuse on the coloring of the picture, I like my photos to be cool toned and I just adjust to my liking.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I don’t think I have a favorite Instagrammer. I do particularly like pages like nikkietutorials and hudabeauty for makeup. As far as lifestyle I like jamieandnikki, Patriciabright, and nathalieparis.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

One thing my fellow Instagrams have got to try as far as products, I would say nyx products. I slept on them for so long but they honestly carry some of the best makeup I’ve used.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to be intouch with so many people, and interacting with so many people. I also love that I can put at least one smile on someone’s face and that’s the goal for me. To get at least out person inspired and happy.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the best way to remain authentic is to have good relationship with consumers and keeping positive communication with people. Never feel so big that the people who got you there don’t deserve your attention.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Take the time you need to plan. Only put out in the world what you are proud to put you’re name on. And people aren’t always going to like or appreciate it but always keep going with what makes you happy.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I like most about brand partnerships is that they trust you enough to use you’re creativity in someway to express your feelings to their business. I love partnering with brands that care about their image to the customers, ambassadors, and partners
