Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Darius Griffin Jr @_thedjsound

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am 22 years old from North Carolina. I am a music producer residing in Atlanta, Georgia.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My biggest topic of interest would definitely be music. I have been exposed to all types of music and musicians since I was young. Anything I post on instagram is mostly music-related. I also post to inspire people who look up to me as a mentor and also people who are following the same path.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

When I first decided I wanted to produce music, my name wasn’t really a factor to me yet. I was more focused on learning about production. My nickname is Dj, so I decided to go with the producer name “beatzbydj”. I stuck with that for a while but decided it wasn’t clever enough and I wanted a name that would stand out more. That’s how my new producer name “TheDjSound” came about.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

As far as photo editing, I only do as much as I can with the filters provided in the app.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really like anyone on instagram who is passionate about their craft and are inspiring others around the world. If I had to pick someone on instagram that inspires me the most, I would have to say the music producer “Zaytoven”. He really is the reason I started to pursue music production. He was the first big name that I pitched my music to and from there I started working hard and achieving success.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

It’s one thing I always encourage everyone to try, and that is to follow your dreams! We are living in a time where people can do anything they put their mind to. The sky is not the limit, it’s just the view. Following my dreams was the best decision I have ever made.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is seeing how many people of all ages I inspire. It means a lot to me when someone asks me for advice and it’s not always just advice on music, its advice on anything! I feel honored to have people that look up to me as a mentor and mogul.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It’s simple. Be original, and recognize your “window”. What that means is, you only have a 2-5 second window to trigger interest in your consumers, so you should always make it count from the beginning.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is very important to have superb quality and especially original content. Original content is necessary not only because of legal reasons, but also because it identifies YOU. You always want to set yourself apart but in a good way.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Partnering with brands is key because it’s really a win-win situation. Both parties are involved and there is more room for marketing strategy and promotional advantages.
