Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Daniela @Danielascrima

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a freelance writer, textile artist & photographer. I am forunate enough to spend my time equally between Portland, OR, Clearwater, FL & Brooklyn, New York. I run several blogs from topics to made for TV movies, Health care & yoga and as well as a look into my personal life. I volunteer with at risk youth and am always looking to partner with organizations that give back.
I started my first blog in 1999 when I was a freshman in high school seventeen years ago & that has helped me to build my Internet presence over time.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love posting a range of things from supplements or nutrition products that have helped me to stationery that I fell in love with. I love my Linus bicycle, have a 6 year old goldendoodle that is a trained therapy dog (he flies with me), I’ve recently received packages from companies like Bic and Ban.Do and love spreading the word about products that I’m passionate about.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I usually try and join every social media platform pretty quickly and I always try and register my own name Daniela Scrima

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love A Color Story & VSCO is my tried and true love. Instagram can be nice, Snapchat can be flattering & ive heard great things about FaceTune. If I’m taking photos with a digital SLR I like to get on the computer and use Photoshop.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

We have such a great community! @abeautifulmess @designlovefest @keikolynn @braincandypodcast @jaglever @bleubird and so many more! I love female bloggers that have a modern aesthetic and open their homes up with lovely photos.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I never thought this would be my response but Kylie lip kits. There’s a reason those things sell out in under a minute.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Helping to get the word out about brands, products or people that my followers may not know about. I’ve received so many hand written thank you notes & they thrill me every time.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It is crucial to decide what your brand actually is before you can promote it to anyone else. Know your audience and your community and don’t be afraid to reach out to them. Learn how to use hashtags and always engage with your audience. Think about doing a giveaway but make sure your brand is getting something in return. Pictures are the things people see first so it’s important to keep a consistent aesthetic.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

There is only one you & that’s a pretty amazing thing. Don’t be afraid to give credit to yourself but always give credit where it is due. Never steal anyone else’s work & ask permission or let someone know if you are reposting their work. Always tag your sponsors in your posts and remember to be grateful that they went out of their way to send you something.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Not only is every day like being on the Oprah show & finding out you just received something wonderful but then getting to pay that forward and share that with your followers and community. I love introducing a product and hearing honest feedback. Being a partner helps you pay it forward in the end because there is something really beautiful about sharing the things we love.
