Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Daniel Mooney @danielmooney

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello! I am Daniel, a half Irish, half Brazilian down to earth kind of guy. I am in Ireland at the moment, visiting family and friends. Soon I will be back in Brazil where I work as a fashion stylist.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love posting a few selfies (of course), my outfits and flatlays with random things like beauty products, magazines, sunglasses and whatever I’m loving at the moment. I also like to post some of my illustrations every now and then.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s my name, luckily it wasn’t taken already. The amount of Daniel Mooney’s there are in this world, you have no idea. So as soon as a new social media comes out, I run to get my username before any other Daniel Mooney does. #BloggerProblems

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I used to use Aviary a lot, but ever since Instagram updated the editing features I never used it again. I usually add a good bit of brightness, a little bit of contrast and mess around with colors and sometimes I even add a filter, but I wash them out a bit.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Hmmm, that’s a hard one. I really like the minimalistic take some people have on their accounts, but I don’t really replicate that style that much. @stphnmlny @apieceofcake82 @love_aesthetics are a few.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Uhhhhh, it’s got to be my camera. I use a Canon G7x that has a feature that transforms my phone in to a remote control. That way, I am as independent as can be! I take all my pictures by myself and I get that perfect pic in seconds.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I sincerely love making a video and getting feedback saying that I made somebody’s day a little bit better. Having the power to make somebody happy and help them in someway to me is just amazing. ♡

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Don’t give the influencer posting rules, let the them do it their way. That way it will fit seamlessly into the person’s feed and won’t drive away followers. Followers don’t like obvious ads.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

As I said, keep it original because followers really do hate obvious propaganda.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love being able to share with my followers something I know they will absolutely love.
